Specto Vecti AS1: Box

Here is the box art for one of the programs in the AS1 package, Vecti. Vecti would be a program specifically designed for creating vectors, so I have mainly constructed the box using vector techniques. The crystalline patterns are done using Pen Tool shapes, which had a Linear Burn overlay. The 'Vecti' text is also made using a similar technique.

Specto Vecti AS1: Box Design Sketch

This is the sketch of the design I shall be working on today. This is the boxart for the fictional program, Vecti. which is a vector art utility in Specto's Art Suite 1 (AS1).

Artist Emulation: Piggy!

Original

Emulation
The emulative factor of my image is largely the copying of the technique used to construct the pig in a 3D style, much like the panda in the original. I have also tried to stay close to the original by having the 'slogan' in a pixellated typeface, and also by having a smaller companion animal - a smaller pig. Everything else is purely there as my own design. The pig here is 'being his own pig' by doing the work that the farmer would usually do for him, but for himself. The little piglet is living by this motto by doing whatever he wants, which is dancing.

Process

The process behind the creation of this image largely consists of the use of various shape tools, and also the pen tool, to create the various faces of the objects. The smaller pig is simply the normal one duplicated, resized, and reposed. There is also a subtle gradient overlay on the background.
